BUDGAM: A terror module linked to proscribed terror outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) was busted in Budgam district and five militant associates arrested, police said on Saturday.
A police team along with Army’s 53 RR and 153 battalion of CRPF arrested Zahoor Wani from village Arizal falling in the jurisdiction of police station Khansahab. On his disclosure, a militant hideout was busted. Incriminating material including arms and ammunition was recovered from the hideout, said a police hand out.
During the course of investigation, four more militant associates identified as Younis Mir, Aslam Sheikh, Parvaiz Sheikh and Rehman Lone – all residents of Khansahib were arrested.
They were involved in providing logistic support and shelter to the active LeT militants operating in the area.
A case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Khansahib and further investigation taken up.
