Rajouri: A soldier was killed and an Army Major among two soldiers were injured after India and Pakistan troops exchanged fire along the Line of Control in Rajouri district.
The injured soldiers, who were injured belong to 17 Madras, officials said.
Pakistan army fired at an army post in “violation of the ceasefire agreement” in Nowshera sector, they added.
The injured have been identified as Major Kambley, Havildar Mahender. Rifleman A, Thomas succumbed to injuries at a local health facility, GNS, local news agency, quoted defense official as having said.
Major and the Havaldar were shifted to military hospital Akhnoor for treatment.
Indian army has given a “befitting” reply to the Pakistan agression, official added.
