Police have arrested two suspects for their alleged role in killing of a shopkeeper in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district last month.
It identified the duo as Aquib Bashir and Auqib Shalla of Chesti Colony, old town Baramulla “A pistol was recovered by police from an orchard in their native village on their disclosure,” a police official said.
The duo is involved in the killing of Sameer Ahmad Ahanger (25), he added.
According to him the duo confessed to the crime during interrogation.
Meanwhile, police spokesman also confirmed the arrests of the duo and their involvement into the killing of the shopkeeper.
“A special team headed by ASP Baramulla carried out the investigation in case,” spokesman said.
“A case under FIR No 112/2019 under relevant sections of law also stands registered in police station concerned and the investigation was initiated which led to the breakthrough into the case,” he added.
Incriminating materials including weapon of offence, a pistol used for the commission of crime was also recovered by police, according to him.
Uzair Amin, who is also involved in the killing of shopkeeper later joined Hizbul Mujahideen.
Sameer, a shopkeeper was shot and killed on June 30 at Azad Gunj Baramulla.
