Srinagar: Anti-Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) on Friday said that it seized contraband worth 1.5 crores from an alleged ‘notorious drug dealer’ at Malangpora Awantipora in south-Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
On receipt of specific information about a drug smuggling bid being carried out by a notorious drug dealer in a Maruti Suzuki car bearing Registration number JK-18 8056, the ANTF team swung into action and intercepted the suspicious car at Malangpora Awantipora, ANTF said in a statement.
The car was searched and the driver apprehended. Herion-like substance worth market value of 1.5 Crores was recovered from his possession.
It identified the accused ‘drug dealer’ as Abdul Rasheed Bhat son of Ghulam Mohammed Bhat, resident of Larkipora in Awantipora.
FIR has been registered under relevant sections of law and further investigations taken up.
More arrests are expected in this regard, the statements reads further.
