Srinagar: Reasi district reported its first positive case of Coronavirus as a man from the district was among the 23 persons, who tested positive on Monday taking the overall tally of COVID-19 patients in Jammu and Kashmir to 546.
Barring one, all fresh cases belong to Kashmir region.
Among the 24 new cases, Anantnag reported six, Shopian and Baramulla five each, Bandipora 3, and Budgam, Kupwara, Srinagar and Reasi districts reported one case each.
According to officials, 15 out of new 23 cases were confirmed at Viral Diagnostic Lab SKIMS Soura and eight other at COVID-19 testing laboratory at Chest Disease hospital Dalgate.
At least 27 COVID-19 patients recovered and were discharged from various hospitals. 18 recovered patients were discharged from SKIMS Bemina, two from district hospital Shopian, three from district hospital Ganderbal, one from SKIMS, Soura two from Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar Jammu and one from Chest Disease Hospital Jammu, according to health bulletin.
“The total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 546 of which 375 are active while as 164 people have recovered and six people died so far,” reads the bulletin.
At least 67570 people have been enlisted for observation while as 6320 are kept under home quarantine.
“375 people are in hospital isolation and 259 are under hospital quarantine. Surveillance of 50625 people has been completed. 9984 persons are under home surveillance,” it added.
From 407 cases on 22 April, COVID-19 tally adds about 150 cases in just 5 days. With 524 cases till Sunday, Jammu and Kashmir stood at number 12 in terms of number of cases among states and UTs of India, officials said.
