Srinagar: There seems to be no let up in addition of COVID-19 cases on daily basis in Jammu and Kashmir particularly in Kashmir.
At least 13 more people tested positive for the disease in Kashmir on Saturday taking tally to 341 in Jammu and Kashmir. However Jammu region did not register any case today.
“No new cases from Jammu Division, 13 from Kashmir; Total positive cases now 341 (54 Jammu and 287 Kashmir). Further details in daily media bulletin,” tweeted Rohit Kansal, government spokesman.
A good number of people have also tested negative in Kashmir. In Kupwara district alone, which has seen 27 positive cases so far, at least 102 samples tested negative on Saturday.
“With this, all 116 returnees from Delhi hotspot traced by our surveillance teams have been tested,” said Anshul Garg, Kupwara Deputy Commissioner.
“Strategy of aggressive tracing and testing appears to be effective till now.
Similar approach will continue in all the red zones to cover all identified contacts in next three days,” he added.
As on Friday 59205 travellers and persons in contact with suspected cases continued to remain under surveillance, which includes 7631 persons in-home quarantine.
At least 281are in hospital Isolation, 260 in hospital quarantine and 27366 under home surveillance.
Besides, 23662 persons have completed their surveillance period, officials said.
