Kupwara: Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Imam Din, directed executing agencies to intensify efforts for timely completion of all on-going development works in border Keran town, situated near LoC, in view of its topography and limited working season.
The Deputy Commissioner was addressing series of officers’ meeting and public darbar at different places during his two day visit to the border town.
District Officers and local PRIs and senior citizens attended the meetings.
The Deputy Commissioner resolved many issues on the spot and gave directions to the concerned officers for timely resolution of public grievances, according to a hand-out issued by the Kupwara Information department.
Responding to the issues, the Deputy Commissioner said that the government has prioritized the work for covering left out panchayats with electricity and Panchayat halqa Mandian-A and B shall be covered with the power supply on priority basis.
Regarding development of road from Dat-bridge to Keran, the Deputy Commissioner informed that BRO has agreed in principle to take over the road from R&B for further development.
Regarding availability of helicopter services during winter season, Deputy Commissioner assured the people of the area to take up the matter with government so that the demand could be fulfilled.
Deputy Commissioner directed Tehsildar Keran to send details of all those students who are studying outside the Keran and are in need of ALC certificate for further course of action so that the demand of the public is fulfilled, reads the hand-out.
Regarding augmentation of drinking water and irrigation facilities, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned executive engineers to speed up the execution of irrigation khuls and water supply schemes so that the ultimate aim of the schemes to facilitate the public on time is yielded in better way.
On the demand of opening of Army Gate for the villagers of Mundu, the Deputy Commissioner assured the people of the area to take up the matter with the concerned Army authorities for its timely resolution.
Regarding issuance of Aadhaar cards, the Deputy Commissioner directed the CDPO Kralpora team which is already in Keran for issuance of Aadhaar cards, to stay at Keran till completion of the task.
Resolving another grievance, the Deputy Commissioner directed Chief Education Officer Kupwara to arrange Math teacher at all required schools in the area. He further directed him to start Community classes, strictly following SOPs in Covid free Keran area as there is no internet and telecommunication facility.
Deputy Commissioner also assured the people for prioritizing of sanction for pension cases under Social Welfare schemes as and when administration receives sanction for pending cases.
On way back to Kupwara, the Deputy Commissioner addresses many public gatherings including public darbar at Meelyal and Kachama in block Kralpora. The Deputy Commissioner heard the public patiently and resolved many issues.
Regarding the issue of labourers, the Deputy Commissioner assured the public to take up the matter with concerned authorities for its timely resolution.
During the two day visit, Deputy Commissioner Kupwara heard the grieviences of many individuals patiently and assured redressal, concludes the hand-out.
