SHOPIAN: In a bid to retrieve the forest land encroached upon by some people in south Kashmir’s Shopian district, Forest department and Forest Protection Force (FPF) have undertaken a drive in the district.
Over 100.l Kanals of land have been retrieved so far, DFO Shopian, Mohd Ayoub, told Curtain Raiser.
The drive was launched from Sangerwani (Keller area).
“The encroachers had converted forest land into apple orchards. We will continue the drive unless forest land is completely retrieved from encroachers,” he added.
