Police on Saturday arrested a man and his wife in Anantnag for their alleged role in drug supply offences and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
Identified as Farooq Ahmad Bhat and his wife Haseena residents of Hyder colony Sopore, the duo was arrested at a checkpoint set up near Arwani crossing. Contraband substance Charas was recovered from their possession. Both have been lodged in police station Bijbehara.
A Case FIR No. 104/2019 under relevant sections of law has been registered and investigation initiated in the matter, according to a hand-out released police.
“Community members are share information regarding drug peddlers in their neighborhood with police. People found invloved in drug meance will be dealt under law,” it added
