Srinagar: Many people including government employees, labourers and businessmen from Jammu and Kashmir stuck in Ladakh Union Territory on Monday demanded evacuation to their homes at the earliest.
They said that the administration has ignored their sufferings by not evacuating them so far.
At least 150 employees working in different departments are stuck in Ladakh Union Territory for past many weeks, Sajad Ahmad, a government employee told Kashmir News Observer (KNO).
“Also around 500 people from Jammu and Kashmir including labourers and businessmen are stuck in the Union Territory and are moving from pillar to post to press for their evacuation,” he added.
They approached the Deputy Commissioner Leh many a times, but he has taken no measure to evacuate them, according to Sajad.
“But some people, who had rapport in administration managed to reach their homes by getting special movement passes from the administration in Leh,” he added.
The government has brought back people from different countries but it sad that it is not paying any heed to people stuck in Ladakh, said a stranded Kashmir businessman.
The stranded people appealed authorities to evacuate them without further delay so that they can celebrate the Eid with their families
