Srinagar: Four persons involved in issuing fake income certificates by using forged signatures and stamps of Tehsildars were arrested from Alamgari Bazar Srinagar, officials said on Tuesday.
Tehsildar Eidgah Srinagar with the assistance of SDPO Hazratbal and SHO Zadibal police station raided a computer center at Alamgiri Bazar Chowk and busted a racket of accused involved in forging documents to issue income certificates.
The documents include income certificates under the fake signatures and seals of Tehsildar Eidgah, Khanyar and Srinagar central, local news agency KNO, reported.
During the raid, seals of CMO and other offices and dozens of fake income certificates were recovered, they said, adding that laptops and cash around Rs 40,000 were also confiscated, officials said.
The main accused identified as Zeeshan Ahmad along with three others were arrested on the spot, they said, adding that a case has been registered in police station Zadibal.
