The offices witness a large number of visitors for official works on an average day.

The residents appealed the Jammu and Kashmir Bank authorities to install an ATM at a feasible location around BSNLor Tehsil office.

Since the area lying in the lap of a hillock is also devoid of public transport, the ATM facility becomes even more important, locals said.

“The nearest ATM near Kupwara sub- district hospiital or J&K bank’s bye-pass business unit is more than a Kilometre away from Tehsil and other offices,” said Mohd Amin, a Dudwan resident

“It takes more than 40 minutes to cover the distance by foot to avail facility. Elderly people too visit the offices for official works and absence of ATM causes severe inconvenience to them,” he added.

The residents appealed J&K Bank Chairman to order installation of ATM in the area so that they do not suffer.

“We appeal chairman sir, to take a serious note of peoples’ sufferings and order installation of ATM without further delay,” said Shamim Ahmad, from Bohipora village, who visited Tehsil office on Monday.
