Kupwara: Are these men immune to deadly Coronavirus? Seems they are!
Curtain Raiser captured this horrible scene (picture) this morning at the J&K bank’s Kalaroose business unit in Kupwara district.
This mad crowd has gathered outside the bank unit to collect cash. This all happens, when Corona-curfew remains enforced for the 20th running day Tuesday, across Jammu and Kashmir.
The money seems much dearer to them than life! Seems like they are starving and need cash to survive.
The bank customers, mostly, elderly men and women have lined up almost one over another in brazen violation of Covid SOPs.
The scene is simply horrible. They have thrown social distancing norms to winds. They do not care even as policemen struggle to pacify them.
Heard a policemen shouting..”Aray bahi..Coronavirus is highly contagious. Pls maintain distance”
But they don’t care.
Jammu and Kashmir Police is on its’ toes for past over a month to enforce the curfew only for the wellbeing of people but sadly mad crowds like this are reluctant to embrace virus.
It is high time, we all must realize police alone can’t not stop the spread of highly contagious virus. It needs a collective and diligent effort to break the chain and overcome the emerging Corona disaster.
Also, owing to shortage of manpower, you can’t expect dozens of policemen guard a banking site to ensure social distancing is maintained.
Worryingly, Bank’s Awoora business unit in the district also witnessed such horrible scenes. People were seen throwing social distancing to winds in a desperate attempt to get cash.
Come on dear citizens. Wake up. Enough is enough. Coronavirus is on a killing spree across India and Jammu and Kashmir is witnessing a surge in deaths and infection count with each passing day. The virus has claimed millions of lives across the world at present India is grappling with second wave of deadly virus that has left the authorities struggling to deal with it.
