Pahalgam: The ponywalas, hoteliers and cab drivers are facing tough times in absence of any tourism activity in world famous tourist destination for past over a year.
Tourism came to a complete halt in Kashmir after government of India scrapped Article 370 and 35 A, on August 5, last year.
After months long shutdown following the development, COVID-19 pandemic further impacted tourism industry.
For decades, the hoteliers, ponywalas and can drivers are solely dependent on tourism for their survival in Pahalgam.
They appealed government to pay attention to them too saying they were unable to pay monthly installments on loans due to no work for past over a year.
