To aware common people about Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Program (PMEGP) and its benefits, police in Kupwara in collaboration with Khadi and Village Industries Commission (Govt of India) on Saturday held an awareness programme at DPL Kupwara.
The workshop was organised with the aim to create general awareness amongst the public, about the schemes and benefits under PMEGP scheme. On the occasion Superintendent of Police Kupwara Shriram Ambarkar, DySP PC Lolab and officials of KVIC were present.
Ambarkar described PMEGP as most beneficial scheme for unemployed youth. He said that such awareness camps greatly help in guiding the youth towards earning income through self-employment ventures which they can establish under various schemes.
He said that aim of these programs is to take such schemes to the logical end, which will provide benefits to the youth.
Later officials of KVIC also highlighted the benefits of this scheme. During the program, many queries were raised by the participants and they were assured that they will get full support from the KVIC. The awareness programme was attended by the respectable of district Kupwara. The program concluded with the vote of thanks from one of the participants.
