Pattan: North Kashmir’s Pattan residents expressed anger over the unsatisfactory performance of health department and lack of health care facilities in the town during ‘My Town My Pride’ programme, which concluded on Tuesday.
During the programme, different certificates and the cheques worth Rs 10,000 were distributed among different Self Help Groups. In addition, registration certificates to street vendors were also provided by the visiting officer.
Manzoor Ahmad Qadri, the visiting officer, who is also Director Sericulture called a meeting of heads of the departments of Pattan sub division and ward members.
The officer heard the grievences of the local representatives. President municipal committee Pattan Prit Pal Singh Obrai, Tehsildar, Syed Salah-ud-din, Executive Officer MC, Mohd Muteen Baba were present during the day-long programme.
Delegations from Traders’ Federation Pattan, Teachers and other individuals also highlighted different public issues and problems of the town particularly the ailing health sector of medical block Pattan.
However the locals showed their anguish over the ailing heath department and demanded major improvement in health sector. They demanded restoration of round the clock medical services.
The visiting officer assured locals to take up all issues with government to resolve them at the earliest.
