The locals said they were facing severe hardship due to frequent power outages.

Students preparing for the upcoming examinations are the worst sufferers.

Students of these areas who are appearing for 10th and 12th Annual 2020 exams alleged that they are facing several problems due to the carelessness of PDD they aren’t able to study during night because of unavailability of Electricity.

A local resident Gh Hassan Wani, said that PDD was ignoring the problems of locals.

Earlier in order to check illegal use of electricity by consumers, Power Development Department (Sub Division Pattan) recently launched a massive drive against illegal connections, an official said.

“The connections of consumers were snapped, who had not paid their power tariff. Heaters and boilers were seized in many villages of Pattan,” he added.

AEE concerned of power development department rued that the people are reinstalling illegal electrical appliances like heaters, boilers and geysers and that is why grid gets overloaded and the residents face power cuts.

“We are providing power as per schedule to these areas and sometimes the 33KV line gets down from Nehalpora Grid Station as it fails to supply the power due to overload” he added.
