Srinagar: The horrific scene of grandpa falling prey to the bullets in front of his eyes left him devastated and clueless.
The tragedy may haunt the three-year-old boy for long, even for the rest of his life.
His eyes filled with tears and the searching gaze running over and again dead grandpa’s face near the shooting site touched millions across the world leaving them speechless.
The heart-wrenching scene in a short vedio and a few shocking pictures, which went viral on social media unfolded an appallling tragedy that befell on minor explaining to the world, why was he inconsolable.
It (the eyes) of minor convincingly conveyed that he was too minor to withstand the tragedy, miles away from his home and even his mother too.
“I got chocolates for you, candies too. Please do not cry,” the police officer struggled to console minor in a moving vehicle but apparently inconsolable, the minor boy heckled time and again, “Take me to my Mom,” as he wiped tears amid sobs.
The brief vedio following the militant attack in north Kashmir’s Sopore town on Wednesday left millions of people speechless.
It prompted a widespread condemnation of the civilian killing and even the filming of boy’s plight following the shooting incident.
The shooting in Sopore town also left a paramilitary CRPF cop dead and three others injured.
Some faint-hearted people may have nearly got a heart attack watching the minor boy gasping for breath after losing his father in front of him.
It was indeed a shocking to see the minor devastated by the appalling tragedy. No amount of love or lure seemed sufficient to console him and understandbly so.
The scene of the teary-eyed minor having his heart filled with unprecedented sorrow apparently reflected on his gloomy face.
It needed no explanations that he went through unbearable pain on Wednesday morning.
He must still be struggling to figure out how his grandpa left him alone midway during the journey. Victim Bashir Ahmad, 61, was on the way to Handwara town to bring the family help back home in Srinagar.
But awfully the final destination turned out to be very far.
The minor boy even does not know that the grandpa has gone so far away from him that he (grandpa) can never be reached out or even seen again in the lifetime.
The three-year-old was dumbstruck after bullets snatched his loving grandpa. He tried everything to wake him up!
He wasted no time in getting over his corpse in desperation. Realising he was not responding at all, the aggrieved minor boy finding himself alone even attempted to go closer to a paramilitary CRPF trooper probably to seek his help (as seen in a picture)
But the trooper made a gesture asking him not to move ahead. It was not clear, why the trooper hesitated to offer him a helping hand.
Police later rescued the minor boy and handed him over to the family in Srinagar.
The boy may have reached the destination but his incomplete journey with grandpa will never get completed.
