Kupwara: Army’s 160 TA, popularly known as Kupwara Terriers Wednesday celebrated 73rd Republic Day with great enthusiasm and traditional fervor at Warsun, Gulgam and AGS Wayne Kupwara.
A flag hoisting ceremony was conducted at Pathahirri Garrison during which various vernacular media journalists were honoured by awarding ‘Certificates of Appreciation’ for their great contribution towards strengthening the bond between Jawaan and Awaam of Kupwara.
On this occasion, four young players of Pencek Silat who were Sponsored by Indian Army, Kupwara Terriers & recently won medals in National Pencek Silat Championship 2021 at Rohtak Haryana were felicitated by Col. Swaraj Bhattacharya, Commanding Officer Kupwara Terriers.
As part of Republic Day celebrations, a flag hosting ceremony was also conducted at remote school located at Warsun & Gulgam to include Govt HSS Gujjar Warsun, Govt High School Dardsun , Govt High School Awoora ‘A’, Govt middle School Awoora ‘D’ and Govt Middle School Cherwari Gulgam respectively where the Company Commanders of Kupwara Terriers unfurled the national flag along the locals got together to celebrate nationalism.
