Kupwara: On the eve of National Anti-Terrorism Day, SSP Kupwara, Dr. G. V. Sundeep Chakravarthy and all ranks of Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday took the pledge to oppose terrorism in all its manifestations and fight the disruptive forces threatening peace and human lives.
The Day is aimed a raising awareness about the anti social acts of terrorism, violence and its impact on human lives
The Day was observed by police across the Kupwara district.
The main function was organised at District Police Lines (DPL) Kupwara, where SSP Kupwara and all ranks took the pledge to relentless fight for peace, security and stability.
Similar functions were organised at all police stations and police posts of the district, where jawans were administered pledge of peace, humanity and to promote unity among people, according to a statement issued by police.
The objective behind the observance of Anti-Terrorism Day is to wean away the youth from terrorism and the cult of violence by highlighting the suffering of common people and showing how it is prejudicial to the national interest, the statement reads.
