The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has unearthed a sprawling cyber scam in which three men allegedly ran illegal call centres in the National Capital Region, defrauding US nationals of nearly ₹130 crore (USD 15 million) between November 2022 and April 2024.
The agency said it acted on a CBI FIR that exposed how the accused lured American citizens under the pretext of offering technical support.
Once victims were entrapped, the operators reportedly gained unauthorised access to their bank accounts, siphoning money overseas before routing it back to India through a maze of more than 200 accounts.
On August 20, the ED raided multiple premises in Delhi and Gurugram linked to the accused — identified as Arjun Gulati, Divyansh Goel, and Abhinav Kalra.
Investigators said the trio lived in opulent houses allegedly bought from illicit earnings, while flaunting a lavish lifestyle funded by cyber fraud.
During the raids, the ED froze 30 bank accounts, seized eight luxury cars, high-end watches, and properties worth over ₹100 crore believed to be proceeds of crime.
“This was a sophisticated racket designed to exploit unsuspecting US citizens. The accused not only cheated victims abroad but also used layered transactions to conceal the origin of the funds in India,” an ED spokesperson said.
The probe is ongoing, with the agency expected to trace additional assets linked to the scam.
