Police brought his family members including his mother to the SOG base to persuade him surrender.

Instead, he continued to fire from the room. “This morning the fire was retaliated, leading to his killing,” GNS, local news agency, quoted Inspector General of Police Kashmir, Vijay Kumar as having said.

Kumar said that ample opportunities were given to him but he did not surrender.

Amin was arrested on May 30, 2021 along with arms, ammunitions and explosives including unlicensed 12 bore gun, live rounds, explosives, iron/steel balls, 9 feature phones and other warlike stores used in fabrication of IEDs,” KNO, a local news agency quoted a senior police official as having said.

“A case FIR No. 48/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Tral. Amin was on remand and on 2/6/2021 he was brought from Police Station Tral to the SOG base for further interrogation,” he added.

Amin was a former militant released in 2003. His brother, Shabir Malik was also a AGuH militant killed at Brenpathri in 2019.
