Anantnag: Doctors at a hospital in south Kashmir have decided to send DNA samples of two newborn female babies for paternity tests after a mother alleged that her baby was replaced at the time of delivery.
The incident occurred on Thursday night at Sub-District Hospital Kokarnag.
Two expecting mothers- one from Sagam area and another from Takiya Magam village gave birth to two female babies almost at the same time at the hospital.
The women gave birth via normal (at-term) deliveries, doctors said.
However, mother from Takiya Magam village, wife of Syed Mohsin claimed that the infant breastfed by wife of Feroz Ahmed Bala from Sagam village is actually her infant.
Mother’s insistence compelled doctors to conduct DNA tests to ascertain the veracity of her claim, local news agency KNT, reported.
