Budgam: The Wildlife department on Friday morning captured another leopard alive in Kalshipora area of Khan Sahib in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
It is second leopard caught in the Khansahib area in less than two weeks.
The animal was capture at Kalshipora Khansahib area of district early morning by a team of wildlife department.
Earlier the leopard was seen a few weeks ago in the area and eversince the department had increased surveillance.
“At around 6 a.m. this morning, the leopard weighing 60 kgs was captured and tranquilized,” the official said, adding,
“It is being shifted to Dachigam where veterinarians will examine the animal.”
Earlier on June 5, a leopard was trapped from Khudpora Village of the Khansahib. Also, a leopardess suspected to be the one which killed a 4-year-old minor girl at Ompora was caught in the premises of DC office Budgam earlier this week.
