Children debate ‘World Population Day’ at Hajipir Army Goodwill School, Tregham

Kupwara: In order to commemorate Swarmin Vijaya Varsh and raise awareness on global population issues among the young generation, a debate and a quiz competition was organized at Hajipir Army Goodwill School, Trehgam.

The students of class VI and VII took part in hours long debate and quiz competition. The topic of debate competition was ‘effects of over-population’.

All the participants were full of calibre and potential. Some of the issues debated and brought out left the audience and elders spellbound.

Mariya Feroz of class VIII from Tregham was adjuged the best debator Class VI proved best quiz team, according to a hand-out issued by army.

The competition came to an end with prize distribution by Ishfaq of Kaafila Foundation, Cherakote Lolab. It was wonderful to see the school children take part in the co-curricular activities post COVID and this boosted the morale of young creative minds, reads the hand-out.
