Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir police Thursday said that 115 people were arrested for violating the Covid-19 norms across Kashmir valley as Corona curfew continued for the seventh straight day.
Also, 49 FIRs were lodged and Rs 10, 3370 realized from 601 people for violating the rules across Kashmir valley.
In wake of a steep surge in Corona cases and deaths, Curfew remains imposed across Jammu and Kashmir since last Thursday.
The government recently extended the lockdown in Srinagar and four other districts till May 10 ina bid to contain the fast spreading virus.
Jammu and Kashmir Police and paramilitary troops have been deployed in large number to enforce the lockdown restrictions in major towns. The barricades and concertina wires have also been erected at many places to enforce restrictions.
Meanwhile, all the shops and business establishments barring vendors and shops selling essentials remained closed across Kashmir.
“Besides, six vehicles were also seized in Budgam for violating Covid-19 norms,” police said, adding that the drive against the violators of Covid-19 guidelines continued throughout all the districts of Kashmir Valley to ensure that people adhere to SOPs and guidelines envisaged by government to contain the spread.
Meanwhile, police urged people to cooperate in containing the spread of Coronavirus by following the SOPs, guidelines and protocols.
“The special drive shall continue throughout Kashmir Valley to strengthen the safety measures,” police said.
