The YRF romantic drama, already hailed as a box-office phenomenon, owes much of its emotional weight to its soul-stirring title track, now echoing across the nation.

And behind that melody are two Kashmiri artists whose voices have finally found their way from the valleys of the north to the very pulse of Mumbai’s music scene.

Meet Faheem Abdullah and Arslan Nizami, two independent musicians from Kashmir whose Bollywood debut has become more than a professional milestone—it’s a cultural moment.

While composer Tanishk Bagchi continues to garner praise for the film’s soundtrack, it’s Abdullah and Nizami’s vocals on Saiyaara that have transformed the song into a national obsession.

Their rendition is not just hauntingly beautiful; it’s hauntingly true—a convergence of pain, passion, and poetry that feels both ancient and immediate.

For Abdullah, whose work in the independent circuit had already made ripples with tracks like Jhelum and Ishq, this project is personal.

“It is an honour to represent Kashmir in the Hindi film industry,” he said. “Our state has beautiful people and incredible artists. I’m happy that two Kashmiri boys worked hard for this project of a lifetime. We want our people back home to be proud.”

Their entry into Bollywood wasn’t premeditated—it was organic.

Bagchi, whom the duo refer to as an elder brother, introduced them to director Mohit Suri, and from that serendipitous meeting came Saiyaara—a track that doesn’t just linger in the ears but settles in the soul.

Arslan Nizami, known in music circles for his lyrical sensitivity, brings a rawness that complements Abdullah’s rich tonality.

Together, they’ve created more than a debut—they’ve crafted a mood. A moment. A memory for millions.

Abdullah’s versatility spans genres like blues, dream pop, ghazals, and Sufi rock. But with Saiyaara, his voice—infused with the ache and beauty of his homeland—has broken boundaries.

“Music, at its core, can spark change,” he says. And with this breakthrough, they’re not just changing how love sounds in cinema—they’re opening doors for Kashmir’s next generation of dreamers.

In a world of algorithms and auto-tune, Saiyaara stands apart—a reminder that sometimes, the purest voices come from the most unexpected places.
