Srinagar: An ‘amateur’ female driver was killed after a car she was driving, rolled down a gorge at Tangnar area along Doodhpathri road in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Friday.
Reports said that the incident occurred as a family was returning from the potential tourist spot – Doodhpathri. The family had stopped for snacks at Tangnar area and in the course of time, one female started the vehicle. However soon after she lost control over the vehicle, resulting in it rolling down a gorge along the road stretch.
The female, identified Saima Rasheed daughter of Abdul Rasheed from Kupwara, was retrieved dead from the gorge.
Confirming the fatal incident, a police official said that the girl was ‘amateur’ and as known would occasionally drive. “We have registered a case and investigations are ongoing”, the official added.
