Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on August 22 ordered the dismissal of two government employees from Jammu and Kashmir for alleged links with terror groups, invoking special constitutional provisions that allow termination without departmental inquiry.
In separate orders, the LG’s office said it was “satisfied after considering the facts and circumstances” that the activities of the employees posed a threat to the security of the state.
The officials dismissed include Khurshid Ahmad Rather, a teacher in the School Education Department from Nawa Gabra, Karnah, Kupwara.

Siyad Ahmad Khan, an assistant stockman in the Sheep Husbandry Department, resident of Keran, Kupwara.
Both were terminated under sub-clause (c) of the proviso to clause (2) of Article 311 of the Constitution of India, which permits dismissal from service without an inquiry if it is deemed against the interest of state security.
The orders, issued with immediate effect, underline the administration’s continuing crackdown on employees accused of links with militancy in Jammu and Kashmir.
