Srinagar: A missing youth from Srinagar district on Monday purportedly announced his joining into militant ranks in an audio message on social media.
The young boy, identified as Bilal Manzoor Bhat son of Manzoor Ahmad, along with another friend Irfan Ahmad Sofi, son of Nazir Ahmad Sofi both residents of Natipora area of Srinagar, went missing on Dec 14, 2020- the day militants shot dead security guard of a PDP leader at Natipora.
The family had filed a missing report at Police Post Chanapora, according to his family.
On Monday afternoon, an audio message purportedly of Bilal went viral on social media, in which he announced his joining into militant ranks.
In the audio message as per a local news agency, Bilal Manzoor can be heard saying to his parents “Don’t search for me. I have chosen the way of Allah and I am safe.”
Meanwhile, a police official said that they were verifying the authenticity of the audio.
Notably, in a vedio message on social media last month, Saqib announced his joining into militant ranks, the KDC reported.
