Kupwara: Ten hand grenades were recovered during a joint search operation conducted by security forces in Kralpora town of Kupwara district on Monday, officials said.
The recovery of grenades was made during searches conducted by 160 Territorial Army, 17JAK RIF and SOG of Jammu and Kashmir Police from a residential house in Kralpora.
Based on specific input, searches were launched in the residential house of Mohammad Yousaf Mir son of Mohammad Yaseen Mir in Gasla Dardpora Kralpora during which ten hand grenades were recovered.
A case FIR number 92/2021 under section 3/4 Explosive Substance Act has been registered at Police Station Kralpora and further investigations are underway, GNS quoted officials as having said.
However the news agency did not report about any arrests made during the operation even though it produced a picture showing grenades recovered and an accused held by security men.
The house owner’s son Nazir Ahmed Mir had already crossed the LoC in 2000, it added.
