Srinagar: Authorities on Wednesday evening extended Public Safety Act (PSA) by three months to keep Shah Feasel under continuous detention, hours before it was to expire.
Home department J&K issued the order, sources said.
Feasal, a former IAS officer, who heads Jammu Kashmir Peoples Movement (JKPM) was detained in August last year besides many other political leaders, after Narendra Modi led BJP government abrogated Article 370 in the state and bifurcated it into two union territories.
He was booked under PSA on February 14, after spending six months in jail under the Criminal Procedure Code(CrPC)
The authorities recently extended detention of Mehbooba Mufti, Nayeem Akther, Sartaj Madni and Ali Mohammad Sagar.
