Shopian: Deprived of potable water facility for past four decades, women and even men in Check Sedow village of southern Shopian district walk at least three Kilometers to fetch water from a Nallah.
“In absence of tap water for past four decades, we are forced to consume contaminated water from open Nallah,” said a local.
“People here particularly children are falling sick due to consumption of contaminated but the authorities’ continue to ignore sour sufferings,” he added.
The locals appealed Chief Engineer, Jal Shakti and Lt. Governor to provide them the basic facility.
