SRINAGAR: Private Schools’ Association of Jammu and Kashmir Friday announced a collaboration with Kashmir Welfare Trust (KWT) for the distribution of various food items among poor and needy families in Pandemic-hit Kashmir.
The Association had recently allowed use its resources in the shape of buildings, vehicles and manpower to effectively deal with the emerging situation. The Association today announced to extend it cooperation with Kashmir Welfare Trust -NGO -to reach out to the needy people.
The relief part of the work will be undertaken under the supervision of the head of Environment & Relief Council of PSAJK Manzoor Ahmad Wangnoo,a press release said.
“As everyone knows that during this time of shutdown many families are running short of eatables. People are out of work and out of money to buy even the essentials. Therefore have decided to do our bit in helping such people by providing the essential items at their doorstep,” said G N Var president PSAJK.
“Taking all precautions, we will gather the food packs and deliver it to families in the most efficient manner,” he added.
The Association has appealed the government to help them in this endeavour by way of giving necessary permissions.
“We hope that the concerned authorities issue us passes at the earliest so that there is no hindrance in movement of our vehicles and men in delivering the service,” said Var.
The Association called on the people to call them on their numbers in case they feel any family or person needs help.
